The Managed, Ansible-based, Network UPS Server, a fork of the NUT Project, functions as a protective measure against data loss caused by power interruptions. While NUT only handles the safe shutdown of servers during UPS power depletion, Tycloud’s MANUS tool goes beyond, managing not only server power states but also containers and applications within them. Through the predetermined cessation of specific services, containers, and non-essential tasks, MANUS effectively prolongs UPS battery life while ensuring uninterrupted operation of critical Tycloud services and customer workloads.
Apart from managing service and resource availability based on the UPS battery level, MANUS also sends notifications to Tycloud administrators via text message and email regarding power events.
